Charlie & Harrigan ― 1978
Charlie & Harrigan's Timeline
Updated 2-15-2011
This team replaced Dale Dorman. Also known as Charlie Brown (real name Jack
Woods) and Irv Harrigan (real name Paul Menard) on September 11, 1978.
Billboard wrote that the team left KCBQ then, to become, reportedly,
"two of the highest paid personalities in the country." WRJKO had been
negotiating with the duo for about 6 months. WRKO spent many thousands of dollars
to convert a production studio for their exclusive use.
It appears that the team quit WRKO just two weeks into their contract due to
a misunderstanding of salaries. (Jack Woods replaced Harrigan's "Charlie" at
KFMB/ San Diego in August, 2001), and returned to KCBQ in 1976.
The team was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame in 2004.
