Gary is a graduate of Lincoln High School, in Lincoln NE.  The earliest record of Gary's career I could find, was at KFAB in Omaha, Nebraska, where, under his real name (Gary Greeness), he spun records and aired the news.

Beyond that, not much is known about Gary Martin, other than that he began as fill-in man at WRKO (arriving from WTIX / New Orleans), eventually having his own full-time shift in various timeslots. After WRKO, he worked elsewhere in Massachusetts, and in other markets including Cincinnati at WKRQ (FM).

Due to health issues, he now resides at a nursing home in Missouri. In 2005, yours truly. Shel Swartz (wrko.org Webmaster) located him, had a wonderful chat on the phone, after which I sent him some WRKO memorabilia.  He sounded warm, upbeat, and sincere.
